The Iberian Peninsula is a territory located in the southwest of Europe, surrounded by the Mediterranean Sea and the Atlantic Ocean, and joining the rest of the continent to the northeast, with the Pyrenees mountain range as a natural barrier.
The countries of Spain y Portugal occupy almost the entire surface, but we also find the Principality of Andorra to the north and the British territory of Gibraltar to the south.
We must also include the Spanish territories that are not physically on the peninsula itself, such as the Balearic Islands, Canary Islands, Ceuta, Melilla and various islets. However, the Portuguese archipelagos of Azores and Madeira and other territories not mentioned are not included.
